Built in the sixties the Grand Théâtre is situated at the heart of Europe, at a cultural crossroads between France, Belgium, and Germany. Having recently undergone a major facelift and refurbishment, equipping it with state of the art stage technology, acoustics and lighting facilities, the Grand Théâtre can now claim its place among the most sophisticated venues in Europe. Thus equipped, the Grand Théâtre now accommodates and co-produces avant-garde dance, opera and theatre productions. Over the course of the past years, the Grand Théâtre has forged close relationships and collaborated with renowned opera houses such as the English National Opera, Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam, Vlaamse Opera Antwerp, La Monnaie Brussels and Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the prestigious festivals Wiener Festwochen and Aix-en-Provence.
