Human Resources Forum
The Human Resources forum is one of Opera Europa's newest forums. Set up in 2010 after our extended survey on Artistic Labour Costs and Conditions revealed an amazing number of common issues which could be best tackled within a long-standing working group.
It brings together HR and Administrative Directors who meet both at Opera Europa larger conferences and at smaller, intensive work seminars. Their aims and purpose are laid out in the attached forum charter.
In the near future, the group will focus on:
- Ageing and pension models
- Work environment surveys
- Professional training and development
- Comparison of different groups (chorus, orchestra, stage technicians,...) in terms of working time, salary, holiday rights, work content,...
- Health issues
- Young employees, apprentices
- Career change, re-education possibilities
- Short-term staff exchange
The steering group of the forum is composed of:
Eddy Ballaux (La Monnaie/De Munt, Brussels)
Francesca Orazi (Teatro Regio Torino)
Hanna Fontana (Finnish National Opera, Helsinki)
Jürgen König (Deutsche Oper am Rhein)
Olaf Mackenzie (Bergen National Opera)
Sanneke van Breemen (Dutch National Opera, Amsterdam)
The next meeting will take place during Opera Europa's spring conference from 28-30 May in Helsinki. More information available soon!
