A word about this company

Opera and Theatre Madlenianum from Belgrade, R. Serbia, was founded as the first privately owned chamber opera in the Balkans in 1998 thanks to donations of the founder Mrs. Madlena Zepter, whose name it bears. Its foundation on the banks of the Danube in the old building was reconstructed and as a result of such action came up an exclusive edifice, the external and internal architecture determined by the greatest, both our and internationally recognized, architects and was completed in 2005. In this reconstructed building, along with opera, ballet and musical, drama repertoire has also been introduced. To this day, 1250 performances for the audience of 360.000 have been presented. In addition to the Huge Hall containing 500 seats, there is also the Studio Hall containing up to 100 seats as well as a number of the rooms such as Bel Etage, where different cultural and artistic events, exhibitions, book promotions, concerts of chamber music and solo concerts take place. Opera and Theatre Madlenianum has become a significant cultural and artistic force in Zemun and Belgrade. Guest performances in the country as well as abroad prove both the value and quality of the performances and programs that are highly rated by expert public and critics.
