A word about this company

Theater Magdeburg is one of the leading repertory theatre in the state Saxony-Anhalt with its own resident drama, opera, ballet and orchestra ensembles. The theatre engages 440 staff members full time, including set and costume workshops, technical and transport departments. Each year, around 30 new productions are realized (many of them co-productions with international partners) – and 600 shows are performed (from cabaret to grand opera). In addition, Theater Magdeburg regularly presents productions created or adapted for children and adolescents in order to engage young audiences. As part of an developing outreach program, the theatre has an ensemble of non-professional local actors who explore the performing arts and the history of the city in the context of a professional theatre. The education department offers a diverse program including teacher training and preparation and pre- and post-performance workshops addressing performance themes for school children of all ages.
