International Opera Award

On Sunday 15 May 2016 at a ceremony in London’s Savoy Theatre, an international jury awarded The Opera Platform the International Opera Award in the Accessibility category. 

 The Award is recognition of the platform’s success in making opera freely available to audiences in such numbers across the world.  It was a delight to share the Award podium with distinguished colleagues, many of whom have delighted audiences on our Platform. They include: the sopranos Ermonela Jaho (Readers’ Award) and Asmik Grigorian (Young Female Singer Award), Gianandrea Noseda (Conductor Award), Opéra de Lyon (Rediscovered Work Award – Le Roi Carotte),and Dutch National Opera (Opera Company Award).
